

Saloon Stox Construction Rules1) All cars to be 1/12th scale and be a reasonable representation of a full size Saloon Stox car. 2) Maximum width of car to be 178mm, maximum length to be 356mm. With a minimum ground clearance of 3mm. 3) All running gear to be fitted to a one piece flat plate chassis. Choice of chassis material is free; V12 chassis may be used. Front and rear bumpers must be fitted to the flat plate chassis and must not project beyond the outer edges of the wheels and to be fitted as to rule 1. 4) All cars to have the windows cut out or clearly defined. The roof panel must be painted with the drivers classification colour. Wheel wells must be cut out as per the full size car and when initially entered into a meeting the body shell must be neatly finished and complete. 5) Maximum cost of a ready to race car, (excluding radio equipment, batteries, motor, speed controller and body shell) to be £85.00. Any scratch built parts, chassis etc. must have a price at which they are available for other competitors. 6) Batteries to be sub C sized cells. Maximum 6 cells to be used, rated @ 1.2 volts per cell. 7) Motors to be Mabuchi 540SH only. External motor bearings are not allowed. Motor end bell may be pinned. 8) Limited slip devices and differentials are not allowed. Solid rear axle only. 9) Minimum 12mm and maximum 26mm width of front tyres rear tyres minimum 12mm, maximum 38mm. Tyre diameter front and rear to be minimum 44mm and maximum 57mm. Tyre additives are not allowed. 10) Drivers name to be on outside of car and clearly visible. 11) Any type of speed controller may be used with a maximum price of £60.00. Reverse must be fitted and working at the start of each race. 12) Ball races allowed on rear axle only. 13) Bumpers: - external ones must be fitted front and rear using a non-metallic material to look like the “real thing” on the front, A Grid appearance is recommended. The bumpers may extend 3mm beyond width of the shell but may not extend beyond 178mm in total width. No full stock car top chassis to be used. 14) No unrealistic wings, aerofoils, spoiler or under body aids unless in the original car design or moulding 15) Approved body shell list for 2004:- M.G. Magnet, Datsun 240/2602, Morris Minor, Ford Escort MK1 and MK2, Sierra/Sapphire, Mondeo, Wolsey 110, Capri, Rover P6.
